Ms.Ratchada has been working as a Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank Office, Bangkok since 2008. Her major responsibility is monitoring the financial sector development in the South East Asian Region including Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. World Bank’s development projects for the financial sector in these countries aim for long-term economic and financial stability and sustainability. In the past 7 years at the World Bank, she actively participated in several programs in the Finance and Market Global Practice including: the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) focusing on State-Owned Commercial Banks (SOCBs), the Corporate Governance - Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes (CG ROSC) program, corporate governance practices in State Owned Enterprises (SOEs), SME financing, microfinance, financial literacy, financial reporting for financial institutions, etc. She has provided technical input in the banking sector development component in the Laos Poverty Reduction Support Operation (PRSO) series 2 & 3, the financial sector section in the economic monitor publication for Laos & Thailand, and the financial sector section in the Country Policy and Institution Assessment (CPIA) program in Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia & Thailand. Recently three technical assistance (TA) programs in Cambodia were completed with success. These 3 programs were FSAP follow-up programs, including accounting & auditing (AA), the crisis preparedness program, and the legal framework for banking industry. In addition, she has led the solvency modernization program for Thai insurance industry and developed a programmatic TA to promote financial inclusion in Myanmar. Previously, Ms.Ratchada worked as a Foreign Exchange Dealer for 8 years in a Thai bank and as an operations manager in its Hong Kong Branch for 6 years. Her areas of banking expertise included foreign exchange management, risk management, branch management, asset liability management, compliance, accounting and auditing. Under her responsibility as an operations manager, the branch maintained the second-best CAMEL rating for 6 consecutive years. Besides her formal career in the financial sector, she was a director in the CFA Society Thailand during 2009-2013. As an active member of the CFA Society Thailand, she has volunteered to teach Portfolio Management for the CFA Level I examination and participated in the panel of judges for the CFA Investment Research Challenge in Thailand for 4 consecutive years. Similarly, she was also an active member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts (HKSFA). In addition, she is a graduate member of the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD) and active in professional activities with these organizations.
