Research and International Cooperation Bureau
Department of Disaster Prevention & Mitigation, Ministry

"I have been working for Ministry of Interior, Thailand since 2007 in a position of Plan and Policy Analyst. I'm currently posted at Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) in Research and International Cooperation Bureau. My responsibilities are coordinating and managing projects/activities under the cooperation between DDPM and international entities such as ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM), WMO/ESCAP Typhoon Committee, WMO/ESCAP Panel on Tropical Cyclone, ASEAN Regional Forum etc. I also have been appointed as Thailand delegate to participate in several national level and international level conferences under the subject of Disaster Management and Disaster Risk Reduction. My current project is on the adoption of Incident Command System: ICS concept into Thailand's Disaster Management system, with Thailand as one of the pilot countries under ASEAN-US Cooperation on Disaster Management, I have been trained and certified as a trainer under such project. I also have been working with Ministry of Defense and Emergency Medical Institute of Thailand in several disaster drills and exercises. My works mostly focus on disaster responses and preparation both at national and international level. The presentation and project management skills during my IPPAM class were real benefits to my work. With my delegating duty, I have been assigned to prepare and present the progress of Thailand's Progress in Disaster Management in many platforms and the presentation skills I have taken from IPPAM became very handy. I was successfully projected my department's works with compliments. Also I have been revisiting my notes and resources from project management class (project design, framework development, log frame development, and evaluation) almost every times I have to prepare for a project and workshops. I think IPPAM classes; with a practical coursework, was very unique which assisted me tremendously in my current position as civil servant in the growing sector such as disaster management."
